It might be your glue. Elmer's has a much higher water content than something like Aleene's Tacky Glue that many of us use. The extra water can cause that. Of course, so can using too much glue. I get that every now and then too. It also helps to wash your hands regularly. That way no extra glue gets spread all over the place.

Good ideas willy. I'm not longer using Elmer's Glue-All white. Do you know what the differences is between the Aleen's bottles are? I read where it said original, quick dy and fast dry on the bottle but other then that is one better then another? I also your post about the stick. I'll have to find some of that. Right now I'm using Fast Gab. Any opinions or ideas?

I used Fast Grab and Quik-Dry for years. I always had both on hand, but usually used the silver bottle (Quik-Dry?) for most building. I used the Purple bottle for areas that had a little for stress on them and needed a stickier glue. I really recommend the new Turbo Tack. It's in a gold bottle like the original, but has bold black lettering. I just picked up another bottle today because it was on sale.

Thanks for the tips on the glue. I'm a big timer user of Aleene's now. Took your advice.
